Nitrous sedation offers a safe and effective solution for patients seeking relaxation during dental procedures at Sapphire Dental Home. Suitable for all ages, the administration process is quick and straightforward, with its effects wearing off swiftly post-procedure. We frequently recommend nitrous oxide for patients experiencing nervousness or discomfort, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free dental experience.

Why is nitrous sedation needed?

There are several reasons why nitrous oxide sedation might be the right choice for you. It’s often preferred by patients who experience fear, nervousness, or anxiety about dental procedures. Additionally, if you find it challenging to remain still for extended periods during treatment, nitrous oxide can help you relax without inducing sleep, making it an ideal option for those seeking mild sedation.

The majority of our patients are suitable candidates for nitrous oxide sedation. At Sapphire Dental Home, we carefully assess your health and medical background to determine the appropriateness of sedation for your specific situation. What happens during the nitrous sedation process?

Nitrous oxide, a gentle sedative, is adept at inducing relaxation and easing anxiety. At Sapphire Dental Home, we administer it through a small mask placed over your nose, allowing you to inhale the sweet-smelling gas. Its calming effects are swift, ensuring comfort during the procedure. After the mask is removed, the sedative’s effects dissipate rapidly. For safety, it’s advisable to arrange for transportation home, as driving immediately after may not be recommended.
